Honouring our Founder
Dr Rowan Blogg
Rowan started the practice in his own family home, where his main bedroom even served as the waiting room. That same home has remained the home of Malvern Vet ever since, making the clinic’s history a very personal part of who we are today.
Rowan was a pioneer in veterinary medicine, becoming Australia’s first Veterinary Specialist after completing a fellowship in ophthalmology in the United States. He also played an important role in establishing Guide Dogs Australia, supporting the organisation throughout his career.
Alongside his clinical work, Rowan was a senior lecturer at the University of Melbourne and served on the Veterinary Board. His contribution to veterinary medicine and the wider community was recognised with an Order of Australia.
We are proud of the history Rowan created and the legacy he left behind. His commitment to veterinary medicine, his community and the animals in his care remains an important part of the story of Malvern Vet.
